MLC Ships Cook Certification Lvl 3
Following popular demand, The New Zealand School of Food and Wine has developed a five day programme to enable people who have been working as chefs, to be assessed for the New Zealand Cookery qualification (level 3). This qualification meets the Maritime Rules Part 31.43 and the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC).
Candidates must submit work verification details, employer references and complete the Theory of Cookery and Product Knowledge workbook before attending the programme. There are compulsory theory assessments based on the theory workbook. Over the 5 days there are a series of practical assessments to check students cooking skills and techniques. The assessment recipes are given to the students prior to attending the course in order that they can prepare for the assessments in advance.
