Cuisine Good Food Awards 2024

What a tremendous showcase of New Zealand hospitality at the recent Cuisine Good Food Awards and how exciting for us at NZSFW to see how the careers of our current students and graduates are flourishing in these restaurants.

Congratulations to Larissa Muller, graduate of the NZ Certificate in Professional Wine Level 5 was awarded the Villa Maria Sommelier & Wine Experience of the Year for her work at Palate Restaurant in Hamilton.

Chef Cory Campbell of The Grove was awarded Cuisine Chef of the Year for his outstanding cuisine and 3 Hats. Cory always welcomes our students on work placements and into the kitchen.

Hello Beasty was awarded 2 Hats for the second year and here you can find Hiroki Uno working in the kitchen under Chef Stuart Rogan.

Dot Wolmarans, who studied cookery in 2015 is part of the team at Three Seven Two on Waiheke Island was awarded 1 Hat. There were 20 category winners considered to be top of their game and leaders in their craft, along 320 restaurants from across New Zealand listed in the Cuisine Good Food Guide 2024. Of these the top restaurants were awarded the prestigious 1,2 or 3 Hats.

It was a social night catching up with colleagues and past students. Chef Canada Loucks and the team from Andiamo and Jacob from Spiga, Melody from Soul Bar and Bistro. Lockie Stewart is now commis chef at 2 star Sidart.
