New: Gap Year Intensive Courses

Taking some time out for a GAP, perhaps before embarking on tertiary study or to give you space to decide what to do next, is becoming more popular. The experience of travelling and exploring the wider world not only gives lifelong memories but it can offer valuable insights into new places and cultures.

For some people, this can translate into an overseas adventure. For others, the opportunity to travel and work in other regions of New Zealand is equally compelling.

With this in mind, the New Zealand School of Food and Wine is offering two short, intensive programmes, teaching key skills which are highly sought after by employers. In addition, the customer service skills gained can benefit ANY career and enhance a CV and help maximise earning potential in the future.

These programmes include the opportunity for a seasonal work placement with highly regarded employers in New Zealand and new partners in resorts located in the Canadian Rockies.

Gap Year2

Canadian work placement package*

  • includes an opportunity for employment (with access to accommodation) with one of our partners, arranging your visa and an orientation package on arrival.

*Additional costs involved, participation criteria requirements

We teach in small classes with a huge focus on hands-on, practical learning - a world away from your classroom time at school. The skills you need to succeed in our sector are the same for any career - communication, teamwork, planning - and you'll learn these in a fast-paced, fun and supportive environment.
